Government of India Ministry of Home Affairs 30-November-2011 18:26 IST Police Welfare Funds/Organisations The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) that are operating Welfare Funds are as under: Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). These funds are being operated/governed by the respective fund rules/Governing Bodies of respective forces. As reported by CAPFs, the rates of contribution into these funds are as under:- Names of Force Name of funds Subscription
BSF Welfare Fund Monthly subscription @ Rs. 1/- to Rs. 25/- from Const. to DG. Contributory Benevolent Fund Monthly subscription @ Rs. 40/- to Rs. 70/- from Const. to DG Special Relief Fund Annually subscription @ Rs. 120/- to Rs. 300/- from Const. to DG Education Fund Monthly subscription @ Rs. 15/- to Rs. 75/- from Const. to DG. CRPF Central Welfare Fund Monthly subscription @ Rs. 15/- to Rs. 50/- from Const. to DG CISF Welfare Fund Monthly subscription @ Rs. 20/- to Rs. 70/- from Const. to DG. Risk-cum-Saving Fund Monthly subscription @ Rs. 120/- - from all members of the force. ITBP Central Welfare Fund Monthly subscription @ Rs. 15/- - from all members of the force SSB Central Welfare Fund Monthly subscription @ Rs. 15/- to Rs. 50/- from Const. to DG. Since these are non-governmental funds, these are not covered under Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) audits. However, as reported by CAPFs, regular audits of these funds are being conducted annually by the Board of Officers of respective forces as well as by the registered Chartered Accountants to see that these funds are being utilized by CAPFs for bonafide and legal activities only. This was stated by Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of State of Home Affairs in written reply in the Rajya Sabha
