Windshields of two of the 27 vehicles that were damaged by Jadhav (Below) Beaten by angry owners, he is now recuperating in a hospital Here’s an ‘elite’ police officer, who instead of enforcing the law, quite literally ‘broke’ it in a drunken state. The Satara police have booked Sub-Inspector Jayant Yashwant Jadhav (33), attached to Force One Mumbai, an elite anti-terror commando unit of Maharashtra police, on charges of destruction to public property and endangering personal safety of the public on Wednesday. Jadhav, who was in an inebriated condition, went on a windshield-smashing spree in the wee hours of Wednesday and damaged windshields of at least 27 vehicles parked in Satara city.
Angry over his bizarre act, the vehicle owners bashed up the cop and later handed him over to the police. He is currently recuperating in a private hospital in the city. According to the Satara city inspector Dayanand Dome, Jadhav was on a two-day holiday to his ancestral home in Songaon. Driving to the scene of the crime in a Scorpio, he began smashing the windshields of parked vehicles with a wooden stick. Jadhav even threw stones at the vehicles, damaging not only cars but also buses parked from Shivraj Petrol Pump to Bogada area in Satara.
