Mumbai Police earned praise from MoS (Home) for keeping city safe during World Cup final

Mumbai, April 3 (IANS) The Mumbai Police Sunday earned praise from union Minister of State for Home Gurudas Kamat for keeping the city safe and ensuring an incident-free World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka.
In a statement here, Kamat congratulated Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik, all the police officers and other security forces involved with the policing of the grand finale.
‘Various news reports leading upto the match had unwittingly created a scare among the people. However, Mumbai Police and other (security) forces ensured a joyous mood through the match, and even during the post-match when millions of citizens were celebrating the victory of Indian cricket team,’ said Kamat, who is elected MP from Mumbai, North West constituency.
He also expressed his heartiest congratulations to Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni ‘for the fantastic display’ and winning the World Cup for India.
